The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Albino's (11-13) road victory over 9th ranked Virtus Cagliari (9-15) 68-52 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Albino. Virtus Cagliari was better in fourth quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Virtus Cagliari to just 7 points in second quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Elisa Silva (192-88, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 9 rebounds and Croatian guard Lana Packovski (170-94) who added 11 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Albino players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Silvia Sarni (188-87) with 17 points and the former international guard Elisa Templari (172-89, agency: LBM Management) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Albino maintains eighth position in A2 with 11-13 record. Loser Virtus Cagliari keeps the ninth place with 15 games lost. Albino will face Bolzano (#13) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Virtus Cagliari will play against the league's second-placed Empoli (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
