Regular Season Round 26: Olivar - Barna 59-62

There was a small surprise in Zaragoza where twelfth ranked Barna (9-14) edged 9th ranked Olivar (10-13) 62-59 on Saturday. Olivar was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 17-9 charge of Barna, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 20 Olivar turnovers. Strangely Olivar outrebounded Barna 50-28 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Bartu Martinez (187-91) scored 14 points to lead the charge for the winners and guard Victor Pla (187-87) chipped in 9 points and 5 steals during the contest. Guard Joan Bernacer (194-99) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and forward Unai Mendicote (196-99) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Olivar's coach Carlos Iglesias rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Barna moved-up to eleventh place in Group C-A, which they share with Mataro and JAC Sants. Loser Olivar keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Barna will face higher ranked Cornella (#7) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
