There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Cagliari CUS (5-18) defeated at home higher ranked Scrivia (14-10) 61-50 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Cagliari CUS. Scrivia was better in third quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Cagliari CUS forced 20 Scrivia turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian Julita Bungaite (187-87, college: Hawaii, agency: Promotex) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Rachele Niola (172-93) who added 9 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Finnish forward Krista Gross (183-90, college: N.Carolina, agency: Interperformances) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and guard Silvia Gabba (170-82) scored 9 points. Cagliari CUS moved-up to twelfth place in A2. Loser Scrivia keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Cagliari CUS will face league's leader Sesto SG in Sesto San Giovanni in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
