Regular Season Round 27: Viola RC - Latina Basket 92-84

There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Viola RC (9-18) defeated higher ranked Latina Basket (14-13) in Reggio Calabria 92-84 on Sunday. Viola RC looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American Marshawn Powell (201-90, college: Arkansas, agency: Three Eye Sports) who led his team to a victory with 38 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (on 16-of-19 shooting from the field). American-Danish guard Alan Voskuil (191-86, college: Texas Tech) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Andrea Pastore (190-94) answered with 19 points and 5 assists and power forward Mitchell Poletti (205-88) added 22 points in the effort for Latina Basket. Viola RC moved-up to fourteenth place in A2. Loser Latina Basket dropped to the sixth position with 13 games lost. Viola RC will face higher ranked Lighthouse TR (#11) in Trapani in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
