Regular Season Round 51: Akita NH - Chiba Jets 73-95

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Chiba Jets (34-15) crushed on the road 5th ranked Akita Happinets (15-34) 95-73 on Sunday. Chiba Jets shot 24 for 32 from the free-throw line, while Akita Happinets only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded Akita Happinets 43-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. Akita Happinets were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) who led his team to a victory with 28 points and 4 steals. American Tyler Stone (203-91, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Diamond Sports) contributed with 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and international guard Shigehiro Taguchi (184-90) added 22 points in the effort for Akita Happinets. Akita Happinets' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Chiba Jets maintains third place with 34-15 record having seven points less than leader Tochigi Brex. Loser Akita Happinets keep the fifth position with 34 games lost. Chiba Jets will face league's leader Tochigi Brex at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
