Regular Season Round 51: Shiga L-Stars - Osaka Evessa 68-65

Important game to mention about took place in Shiga. Sixth ranked Shiga L-Stars (12-37) saved a 3-point victory at home edging second-best Osaka Evessa (23-26) 68-65 on Sunday evening. Shiga L-Stars dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Osaka Evessa's 22. It was a great evening for Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. American Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St.) helped adding 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St.) scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Shiga L-Stars maintains sixth place with 12-37 record. Osaka Evessa at the other side dropped to the third position with 26 games lost. They share it with Nagoya DD. Shiga L-Stars will play against league's second-placed Ryukyu GK in Okinawa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Osaka Evessa will play at home against Kyoto Hannar. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
