Neuss held off Goettingen to even the series at 1-1. The hosts were already 14 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 21-16 Goettingen's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 72-63 at the end of the game. TG Neuss dominated on the defensive end, holding Goettingen to just 7 points in first quarter. American guard Deanna Weaver (180, college: Boise St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. The other American import guard Dara Taylor (173-91, college: Penn St.) contributed with 12 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Trinidad and Tobago center Verdine Warner (196-92, college: Shaw) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and American swingman Alissa Pierce (177-86) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Goettingen. Four Goettingen players scored in double figures. Goettingen's coach Giannis Koukos tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game.
