Regular Season Round 27: Montegrano - Porto S.Elpidio 71-82

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Montegrano (22-3) in Montenegrano on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by seventh ranked Porto S.Elpidio (14-13) 82-71. Porto S.Elpidio made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for point guard Antonio Brighi (190-96) who led his team to a victory scoring 37 points (!!!) (perfect behind the arc making all seven shots !!!). Center Mirko Romani (205-88, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 9 points. Porto S.Elpidio's coach Massimiliano Domizioli used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was point guard Eugenio Rivali (178-86) with 28 points and 7 rebounds and forward Francesco Bedetti (195-93, agency: Interperformances) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Porto S.Elpidio maintains seventh place in B with 14-13 record, which they share with Crema. Montegrano at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Porto S.Elpidio is looking forward to face higher ranked Pescara (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Montegrano will play against Campli (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
