Second Stage Round 11: Hogsbo - Alvik Basket 75-88

Date: April 2, 2017
Very significant was Alvik Basket's (#7) 88-75 road victory against 8th ranked Hogsbo in Superettan. The game was mostly controlled by Alvik Basket. Hogsbo was better in second period 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Hogsbo was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Daniel Hansson (187-97) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Forward Jacob Andersson (196-89, college: CS San Marcos) accounted for 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Alvik Basket players scored in double figures. Forward Filip Sjostrom (200-90) came up with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Lukas Brehm (191-91) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Hogsbo in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alvik Basket (4-9) moved-up to sixth place in Superettan. Hogsbo at the other side keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Alvik Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hogsbo will play on the road against LF Future (#5) in Lulea and hopes to get back on the winning track.
