Regular Season Round 52: Nishinomiya S. - Tokyo Z 94-55

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Nishinomiya S. as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Nishinomiya S. smashed 3rd ranked Tokyo Z in Hyogo 94-55. Nishinomiya S. dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Z's 28. They outrebounded Tokyo Z 48-32 including a 37-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Naoki Tani (193-88) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Larry Owens (201-83, college: ORU, agency: Three Eye Sports) who added 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Nishinomiya S. players scored in double figures. Nishinomiya S.'s coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Shota Watanabe (180-93) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Toyotsu FE. Tokyo Z at the other side keeps the third place with 30 games lost. Tokyo Z will play next round against Shinshu BW trying to get back on the winning streak. Nishinomiya S. will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Tokyo Excel. on the road.
