Regular Season Round 25: Cholet - Le Mans 78-58

We should mention about the upset which took place in Cholet, where higher ranked Le Mans (11-14) was outleveled in a road game by fifteenth ranked Cholet Basket (9-16) 78-58 on Sunday. The game without a history. Cholet Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Cholet Basket especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. The former international forward Ilian Evtimov (201-83, college: N.Carolina St.) stepped up and scored 24 points for the winners and the former international point guard Jonathan Rousselle (187-90) chipped in 10 points and 9 assists. Four Cholet Basket players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) responded with 12 points and naturalized Ivorian guard Pape-Philippe Amagou (186-85, agency: BeoBasket) scored 9 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cholet Basket moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Chalons-Reims and Hyeres-Toulon. Loser Le Mans keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Limoges. Cholet Basket will meet Entente Orleans 45 (#17) on the road in the next round. Le Mans will play against Gravelines-Dunkerque (#7) and hope to secure a win.
