Regular Season Round 25: Bnei Hertzeliyya - Maccabi T-A 94-88

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Maccabi T-A (17-8) in Hod Hasharon on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Bnei Hasharon (15-10) 94-88. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-88. Bnei Hasharon looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Maccabi T-A helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) stepped up and scored 27 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners and American-Montenegrin forward Halil Kanacevic (203-91, college: St.Joseph's) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. At the losing side American forward Victor Rudd (205-91, college: S.Florida) responded with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and naturalized American forward Joe Alexander (203-86, college: W.Virginia) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Bnei Hasharon and five Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. Bnei Hasharon maintains third place with 15-10 record having just two points less than leader Maccabi T-A, which they share with Hapoel Eilat. Maccabi T-A at the other side still keeps top position with eight games lost. They share it with Hapoel Holon. Bnei Hasharon is looking forward to face league's second-placed Hapoel Holon on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Maccabi T-A will play against Hapoel Eilat and is hoping to win this game.
