Regular Season Round 11: Hyundai-TSU - SEU Tbilisi 94-58

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: Hyundai-TSU (#2) and SEU Tbilisi (#6). Hyundai-TSU (8-3) crushed visiting SEU Tbilisi (0-11) by 36 points 94-58. The game without a history. Hyundai-TSU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to SEU Tbilisi's 38. Hyundai-TSU forced 25 SEU Tbilisi turnovers and outrebounded them 47-35 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by SEU Tbilisi's players. The best player for the winners was South African center Christopher Gabriel (210-88, college: San Diego) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward George Korsantia (203-98) chipped in 8 points and 11 rebounds. Gabriel is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Hyundai-TSU's coach Nikoloz Cherkezishvili felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Kakha Giorgadze (197-94) produced 26 points and power forward Davit Maisuradze (205-90) added 9 points respectively for the guests. Hyundai-TSU maintains second place with 8-3 record behind leader DELTA. SEU Tbilisi at the other side still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Hyundai-TSU are looking forward to face league's leader DELTA in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. SEU Tbilisi will play against BC Titebi (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
