The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Lobos UAD Mazatlan's (2-6) road loss to seventh ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (4-4) 83-89. Caballeros de Culiacan outrebounded Lobos UAD Mazatlan 42-28 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American center Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists. Canadian forward Grandy Glaze (204, college: Grand Canyon) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Caballeros de Culiacan players scored in double figures. American swingman Cliff Tucker (198-89, college: Maryland) answered with 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and the former international swingman Jorge-Alfredo Casillas (196-90) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Lobos UAD Mazatlan. Caballeros de Culiacan have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Guaymas. Lobos UAD Mazatlan lost fifth consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Caballeros de Culiacan's next round opponent will be Ostioneros de Guaymas (#7) at home. Lobos UAD Mazatlan will play against Garra Canera de Navolato and hope to win that game.
