Second Stage Round 5: Moutahed - Tadamon 102-101

Third-ranked Tadamon (9-14) was very close to win a game against second ranked Al Moutahed (13-10) in Tripoli on Thursday. Al Moutahed managed to secure only one-point victory 102-101. However their fans expected easier game. Al Moutahed made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. American guard Dewarick Spencer (192-82, college: Arkansas St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) saved the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). His fellow American import forward Cleveland Melvin (203-91, college: De Paul) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Bosnian-Serbian center Mile Ilic (215-84) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Maurice Kemp (203-91, college: E.Carolina, agency: Duran International) added 26 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Tadamon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Moutahed maintains second place in LBL with 13-10 record having four points less than leader Al Riyadi. Tadamon at the other side keeps the third position with 14 games lost. Al Moutahed are looking forward to face league's leader Al Riyadi in Beirut in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tadamon will play at home against Champville and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
