Everything went according to plan when third ranked Burgos (21-10) defeated at home 17th ranked Cocinas.com (9-22) 100-89 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Burgos. Cocinas.com managed to win second period 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Burgos shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Icelandic point guard Aegir Steinarsson (185-91, college: Newberry, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 8 rebounds and 13 assists. Serbian center Goran Huskic (210-92, college: Howard Col., TX) accounted for 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Lithuanian center Mindaugas Kupsas (217-91, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 31 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Andre Norris (201-94, college: Dubuque, agency: Two Points) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Cocinas.com in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Burgos maintains third place with 21-10 record behind leader Gipuzkoa GBC. Cocinas.com lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 22 games lost.
