Regular Season Round 27: Sitges - Andorra II 62-61

There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Sitges (6-17) edged at home 11th ranked Andorra II (7-17) 62-61 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 62-61. Sitges made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 25 Andorra II turnovers. Strangely Andorra II outrebounded Sitges 43-29 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Pau Carretero (188-91) who scored 16 points. Power forward Roger Perez (203-96) chipped in 6 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Senegalese center Wally Niang (206-96) who recorded 17 points and 9 rebounds and Nil Bria (195-97) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Andorra II's coach Milo Nunes rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sitges moved-up to twelfth place in Group C-B. Loser Andorra II keeps the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Sitges will face higher ranked Barbera (#4) in Barcelona in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
