Second Stage Round 5: Homenetmen - Louaize 98-77

An interesting game for Homenetmen (22-1) which hosted in Beirut 3rd placed Louaize (11-12). First ranked Homenetmen had an easy win 98-77. The game without a history. Homenetmen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Homenetmen outrebounded Louaize 48-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international swingman Fadi El-Khatib (198-79) nailed 31 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and international center Ater Majok (208-87, college: Connecticut) accounted for 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks. Five Homenetmen players scored in double figures. American Travis McKie (201-92, college: Wake Forest, agency: Diamond Sports) came up with 26 points and 7 rebounds and international guard Geron Johnson (190-92, college: Memphis) added 20 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Louaize in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Homenetmen maintains first place in LBL with 22-1 record. Loser Louaize keeps the third position with 12 games lost. Homenetmen will meet league's second-placed Byblos on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Louaize will play against Sagesse in Beirut and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
