The game in Culiacan was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (6-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (4-6). Ostioneros de Guaymas did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 79-62 on Saturday. It was a great evening for American-Bahrain swingman Rashad Woods (197-86, college: Kent St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Brandon Provost (190-90, college: UTRGV) helped adding 14 points and 4 assists. Ostioneros de Guaymas' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American center Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St.) responded with 20 points and 8 rebounds and Canadian forward Grandy Glaze (204, college: Grand Canyon) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Ostioneros de Guaymas moved-up to third place, which they share with Obregon and Navolato. Loser Caballeros de Culiacan dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Mazatlan. Ostioneros de Guaymas will meet at home Frayles de Guasave (#6) in the next round. Caballeros de Culiacan will play against Halcones de Ciudad Obregon and hope to secure a win.
