Regular Season Round 10: Gigantes - Trotamundos 85-86

Important game to mention about took place in Puerto Ordaz. Second ranked Trotamundos (11-7) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 3rd ranked Gigantes (9-7) 86-85 on Saturday evening. Gigantes were ahead by 8 points after three quarters before a 29-20 charge of Trotamundos, which allowed them to win the game. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Ricardo Powell (199-83, college: S.Carolina) notched 37 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and forward Josh Powell (206-83, college: N.Carolina St.) supported him with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Even 27 points (made all of his seven free throws) by guard Ricky Tarrant (188-93, college: Memphis) did not help to save the game for Gigantes. Quinnel Brown (198-83, college: Auburn) added 26 points for lost side. Trotamundos used an opportunity after Guaiqueries lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Gigantes at the other side keep the third place with seven games lost. Trotamundos will play against league's leader Guaiqueries in Porlamar in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gigantes will play at home against Guaros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
