Regular Season Round 52: Shiga L-Stars - Ryukyu GK 73-75

Sixth-ranked Shiga L-Stars (12-38) gave a tough game to second ranked Ryukyu GK (25-25). The visitors from Okinawa managed to secure only two-point victory 75-73. However their fans expected much easier game. The winners were led by American power forward Lamont Hamilton (208-84, college: St.John's) who scored that evening 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Syota Tsuyama (178-96) supported him with 14 points. Even 14 points and 7 assists by guard Narito Namizato (172-89) did not help to save the game for Shiga L-Stars. Center Samba Faye (205-87) added 11 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Ryukyu GK have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 25-25 record having nineteen points less than leader Tochigi Brex, which they share with Hitachi SR. Shiga L-Stars at the other side keep the sixth place with 38 games lost. Ryukyu GK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shiga L-Stars will play again at home against the league's second-placed Ryukyu GK (#2) and hope to get back on the winning track.
