Round 28 in Liga Endesa means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Andorra where host Andorra (14-12) edged league's leader CB Canarias (19-8) 85-82 on Saturday evening. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Andorra made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game, while CB Canarias only scored six points from the stripe. 27 personal fouls committed by CB Canarias helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Swingman David Navarro (189-83) fired 15 points for the winners. American guard David Walker (197-93, college: Northeastern) chipped in 17 points. American forward Tim Abromaitis (203-89, college: Notre Dame) produced 22 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Davin White (185-81, college: CS Northridge) added 14 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Andorra maintains eighth position with 14-12 record. CB Canarias at the other side dropped to the third place with eight games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Valencia. CB Canarias will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Andorra will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Unicaja Malaga on the road.
