Top ranked San Lorenzo (30-15) recorded its fifteenth loss in Almagra on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by ninth ranked Atenas (18-26) 100-99. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Atenas shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. American Pete Mickeal (199-78, college: Cincinnati) fired 27 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Mateo Chiarini (186-98) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists. Atenas' coach Osvaldo Arduh used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American center Jerome Meyinsse (207-88, college: Virginia) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and international forward Gabriel Deck (199-95) added 20 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Atenas maintains ninth place with 18-26 record. Defending champion San Lorenzo still keeps top position with 15 games lost. Atenas are looking forward to face league's second-placed Ferrocarril in Buenos Aires in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. San Lorenzo will play at home against Argentino and is hoping to win this game.
