Regular Season Round 27: Azuqueca - Villarrobledo 85-69

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Azuqueca (18-9) beat at home 7th ranked Villarrobledo (15-12) 85-69 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Azuqueca. Villarrobledo was better in second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Azuqueca forced 22 Villarrobledo turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. The best player for the winners was Serbian power forward Branislav Tomic (205-80) who scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Jorge Tejera (200-92) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian power forward Junior Fortunat (206-92, college: Rider) who recorded 15 points and 8 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and American guard Bo Barnes (193-90, college: Arizona St., agency: Haylett Sports) added 15 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Azuqueca maintains fifth place in Group B with 18-9 record. Loser Villarrobledo keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Azuqueca will face league's leader Casvi in Villaviciosa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Villarrobledo will play at home against the league's second-placed Real Madrid II (#2) and hope to win that game.
