Regular Season Round 27: Valls Nutrion - Mollet 75-80

No shocking result in a game when first ranked Mollet (20-4) defeated on the road 8th ranked Valls Nutrion (11-13) 80-75 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 17-8. But Valls Nutrion won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was forward Nil Baques (193-98) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Center Jose-Manuel Coego (205-78) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Alejandro Alba (193-77) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and Equatorial Guinean forward Oscar Ngomo (197-90) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Valls Nutrion's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Mollet have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group C-B with 20-4 record. Newly promoted Valls Nutrion keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. Mollet will face Cerdanyola (#13) in Cerdanyola del Valle in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Valls Nutrion will play on the road against Sant Adria (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
