A very interesting game took place in Durango. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 9th ranked Aguilas Doradas de Durango (3-8) to seventh ranked Frayles de Guasave (5-5) 94-92 on Saturday evening. It was an exceptional evening for Gary Mondragon (-91) who led the winners and scored 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Travis Franklin (200-88, college: Colorado St., agency: Interperformances) accounted for 28 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Naturalized American guard Martin Zamarco (190-85, college: Bowling Green) came up with 28 points and 8 assists and American forward Paul Jones (198-89, college: W.Washington) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Aguilas Doradas de Durango in the defeat. Five Aguilas Doradas de Durango players scored in double figures. Aguilas Doradas de Durango's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Frayles de Guasave moved-up to sixth place. Newly promoted Aguilas Doradas de Durango keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Frayles de Guasave's next round opponent will be higher ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (#3) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
