Second Stage Round 10: Bascharage - Heffingen 95-90

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Heffingen (18-9) against fourth ranked Bascharage (3-23) on Saturday night. Visiting Heffingen was defeated by Bascharage in a tough game in Kaerjeng 90-95. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 26-20. But Heffingen won second period 25-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Phillip Leonard (188-93, college: Mercer) notched 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the other American import power forward Emilio Parks (198-92, college: Johnson C. Smith) supported him with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Bascharage players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 40 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds by American power forward Mike Jones (203-83, college: N.Texas) did not help to save the game for Heffingen. Serbian swingman Nikola Pavlovic (195-93, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 18 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Bascharage maintains fourth position in League with 3-23 record. Newly promoted Heffingen keeps the second place with nine games lost. Bascharage will meet league's leader Racing in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Heffingen will play against the league's leader Basket Esch and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
