Regular Season Round 28: Unieuro Forli - Mantova 62-72

Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Mantova (15-13) beat on the road 15th ranked Unieuro Forli (8-20) 72-62 on Saturday. Mantova had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Jacopo Giachetti (190-83) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 8 assists and swingman Alessandro Amici (200-91) who added 14 points during the contest. Four Mantova players scored in double figures. At the losing side naturalized American forward Ryan Amoroso (205-85, college: San Diego St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Melvin Johnson (193-93, college: VCU) scored 16 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mantova maintains eighth position in A2 with 15-13 record. Newly promoted Unieuro Forli keeps the fifteenth place with 20 games lost. Mantova will face Recanati (#16) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Unieuro Forli will play against Imola and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
