Regular Season Round 28: Granada - Sammic ISB 73-67

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Sammic ISB (21-7) on the court of third ranked CB Granada on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by CB Granada 73-67. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Sammic ISB. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 39-28 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. CB Granada made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Argentinian forward Alejandro Bortolussi (202-89) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and swingman Ivan Martinez (192-90) who added 10 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Tim Dezelski (198-90, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and New Zealand center Mike Karena (208-93, college: Wright St.) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CB Granada maintains third position with 20-9 record behind leader Sammic ISB. Sammic ISB at the other side still keeps top place with seven games lost. CB Granada are looking forward to face L'Hospitalet (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sammic ISB will play against Fontedoso Carrefour (#5) in Avila and is hoping to win this game.
