Regular Season Round 25: Trikalla - Doxa Lefkadas 74-68

Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Aiolos Trikallon (10-15) defeated at home bottom-ranked Doxa Lefkadas (4-21) 74-68. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were already 14 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 28-20 Doxa Lefkadas' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 74-68 at the end of the game. It was a very good performance for American guard Kelsey Barlow (196-91, college: Ill.-Chicago) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Naturalized French Angelo Tsagarakis (191-84) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Montenegrin Ivan Maras (207-86) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Georgios Georgakis (204-91) added 13 points (perfect from the field making all six shots) in the effort for Doxa Lefkadas. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Aiolos Trikallon moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Promitheas. Doxa Lefkadas lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 21 lost games. Aiolos Trikallon's next round opponent will be higher ranked Kolossos HH (#7) in Rodou and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Doxa Lefkadas will play at home against AGOR (#6) and hope to win that game.
