Regular Season Round 25: Alghero - Crema 61-83

Very expected game when 14th ranked Alghero (1-24) was rolled over at home by fourth ranked Team Crema (18-7) 83-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Team Crema. Alghero was better in fourth quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Team Crema dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Alghero's 30. Team Crema forced 21 Alghero turnovers. Forward Martina Picotti (184-90) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Latvian forward Ieva Veinberga (185-84) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds. Four Team Crema players scored in double figures. Center Alexandra Petrova (185-97) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 22 rebounds and forward Viviana Manconi (172-99) added 15 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Team Crema maintains fourth place in A2 with 18-7 record. Newly promoted Alghero keeps the fourteenth position with 24 games lost. Team Crema will face Albino (#8) at home in the next round. Alghero will play against San Salvatore (#10) and hope to win that game.
