Regular Season Round 26: Rivas Promete - IF Air Europa 67-63

There was no surprise when 13th ranked IF Air Europa (6-20) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Rivas Promete (15-11) 67-63 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But IF Air Europa won third quarter 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rivas Promete dominated on the defensive end, holding IF Air Europa to just 5 points in second quarter. They outrebounded IF Air Europa 46-29 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Marta Blanes (184-77, agency: ProDep Management) who scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Carolina Arfinengo chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Rivas Promete's coach used entire bench in such tough game. Guard Regina Gomez (173-82, agency: ProDep Management) produced 23 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and Brigida Gual (-97) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Rivas Promete moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with Adareva. IF Air Europa lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 20 games lost.
