Regular Season Round 25: Lavrio - Aris 75-70

An interesting game took place in Lavrio where 4th placed Aris (14-11) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Lavrio (11-14) 75-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Aris. It looked good early as Aris took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lavrio had a 17-15 second period charge getting the lead and Aris was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-75. Lavrio forced 21 Aris turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Aris helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Demarius Bolds (193-84, college: Missouri Western) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import Sean Evans (203-88, college: St.John's) contributed with 8 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Bolds is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Will Cummings (188-92, college: Temple) answered with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Serbian power forward Tadija Dragicevic (206-86, agency: AproK Sports Group) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Aris. Aris' coach Dimitris Priftis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Lavrio. They moved-up to eighth place. Aris at the other side keeps the fourth position with 11 games lost. Lavrio's next round opponent will be Apollon Patras (#13) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. Aris will play against AEK Athens (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
