Regular Season Round 27: Muro Basquet - Sant Adria 97-102

Rather expected game when 8th ranked Muro Basquet (10-14) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Sant Adria (12-12) 102-97 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Muro Basquet won fourth quarter 28-26. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sant Adria well out of reach of Muro Basquet shooting 71.4 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 73.7 percentage. The best player for the winners was naturalized Venezuelan power forward Luis Gonzalez (200-85) who scored 16 points. Point guard Pol Bassas (184-95) chipped in 13 points. Sant Adria's coach Mario Lousame allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Brandon Givens (198-87, college: NC-Wesleyan) who recorded 24 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Senegalese center Mouhamadou Diop (212-83) added 22 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Sant Adria maintains sixth place in Group A-A with 12-12 record. Muro Basquet at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Sant Adria will face Valls Nutrion (#8) at home in the next round. Muro Basquet will play against Quart and hope to win that game.
