Second Stage Round 10: Etzella - Amicale 100-74

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Amicale (24-3) in Ettelbruck on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by third ranked Etzella (17-10) 100-74. The game without a history. Etzella led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Amicale's 36. They outrebounded Amicale 49-23 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Etzella looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Amicale's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian power forward Billy McNutt (203-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward Derrick Barden (196-92, college: N.Colorado) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Five Etzella players scored in double figures. American forward Shavon Coleman (196-92, college: LSU, agency: Court Side) replied with 28 points and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Billy McDaniel (199-84, college: Ark.-Monticello) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Amicale. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Etzella maintains third position in League with 17-10 record having seven points less than leader Amicale. Defending champion Amicale still keeps top place with three games lost. Etzella are looking forward to face Sparta (#6) in Bertrange in the next round. Amicale will play at home against T71 (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
