There was no surprise in Santoago de Comp where 13th ranked Blusens Monbus (8-17) was defeated by seventh ranked Unicaja Malaga (16-9) 78-70 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Unicaja Malaga shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. American guard Jamar Smith (191-87, college: S.Indiana, agency: Inception Sports) fired 19 points for the winners. The other American import point guard Kyle Fogg (190-90, college: Arizona) chipped in 10 points and 5 assists. American center Shayne Whittington (209-91, college: W.Michigan) produced 15 points and 9 rebounds and Ukrainian center Artem Pustovyi (218-92, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Blusens Monbus players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Unicaja Malaga maintains seventh position with 16-9 record. Loser Blusens Monbus dropped to the fourteenth place with 17 games lost. Unicaja Malaga will face Andorra (#8) at home in the next round. Blusens Monbus will play against RETAbet BB (#9) in Bilbao and hope to win that game.
