Regular Season Round 29: Brussels - Aalstar 104-90

Rather predictable result when third ranked Basic-Fit Brussels (18-10) defeated at home 5th ranked Okapi Aalstar (15-15) 104-90 on Sunday. They outrebounded Okapi Aalstar 40-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. Basic-Fit Brussels looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Domien Loubry (186-85) who scored 20 points and 9 assists. American power forward Brandon Ubel (209-91, college: Nebraska, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Basic-Fit Brussels' coach Serge Crevecoeur used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Yunio Barrueta (198-93, college: Barry) produced 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Samoan-American power forward John Tofi (203-84, college: UTEP, agency: Pensack Sports) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Five Basic-Fit Brussels and four Okapi Aalstar players scored in double figures. Basic-Fit Brussels have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Antwerp. Loser Okapi Aalstar keeps the fifth position with 15 games lost. Basic-Fit Brussels will meet at home league's leader Oostende in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Okapi Aalstar will play against Liege Basket (#10) in Liege and hope to secure a win.
