Very predictable result when third ranked San Miniato (17-11) outscored at home 12th ranked Siena Virtus (12-16) 72-48 on Sunday. They outrebounded Siena Virtus 42-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. Guard Francesco Stefanelli (190-95) fired 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Power forward Roberto Bertolini (198-86, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Center Lorenzo Bruno (198-91) produced 11 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Simone Lenardon (189-85) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. San Miniato maintains third position in B with 17-11 record having four points less than leader Montegrano, which they share with Faenza and Lecco. Newly promoted Siena Virtus dropped to the tenth place with 16 games lost. San Miniato will face Sangiorgese (#13) in San Giorgio in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
