Regular Season Round 27: Barna - Cornella 75-72

There was an upset in Barcelona where higher ranked Cornella (12-12) was edged by eleventh ranked Barna (10-14) 75-72 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cornella won fourth quarter 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was point guard Marc Rabaseda (182-93) who scored 22 points. Guard Victor Pla (187-87) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Bernat Alvarez (176-95) who recorded 16 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Joan Pilan (192-93) added 16 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Barna have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to tenth place in Group C-A, which they share with Sant Nicolau and JAC Sants. Loser Cornella dropped to the eighth position with 12 games lost. Barna's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Barcelona to the arena JAC Sants.
