Regular Season Round 27: Valle de Egues - Santurtzi 54-81

No shocking result in a game in Olaz where fifth ranked Santurtzi (17-7) smashed 8th ranked Valle de Egues (10-14) 81-54 on Sunday. The game without a history. Santurtzi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Santurtzi forced 19 Valle de Egues turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. The best player for the winners was forward Joseba Iglesias (200-83) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Xabier Martin (186-81) chipped in 15 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Ivorian power forward Kouassi Konan (204-91) who recorded 11 points and 7 rebounds and Fernando Santesteban added 13 points respectively. Four Valle de Egues players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Santurtzi have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to third place in Group A-A, which they share with Easo and Ardoi. Newly promoted Valle de Egues keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Santurtzi will face Ardoi (#5) in Zizur Mayor in the next round. Valle de Egues will play on the road against Univ.Burgos and hope to win that game.
