An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Cordoba. Second ranked Ferrocarril faced 4th placed Instituto. Guests from Buenos Aires (30-16) defeated host Instituto (27-21) 97-91. Instituto was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Ferrocarril looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. International point guard Franco Balbi (185-89) fired 25 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American-Puerto Rican Ramon Clemente (200-85, college: Wichita St.) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Five Ferrocarril players scored in double figures. American John DeGroat (201-85, college: Pittsburgh) produced 34 points (!!!) and the other American import swingman Rodney Green (196-88, college: La Salle) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Ferrocarril have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 30-16 record having just two points less than leader San Lorenzo. Loser Instituto keeps the fourth position with 21 games lost. Ferrocarril will face Atenas (#9) in Cordoba in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
