Fifth-ranked Yokohama BC (15-36) made lots of trouble for third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (26-25) in Tokyo on Sunday. Hitachi Sunrockers managed to secure only three-point victory 69-66. However their fans expected easier game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hitachi Sunrockers made 7 blocks. Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners and the former international guard Kenta Hirose (193-85) chipped in 14 points. International center Pape Faye (200-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Yokohama BC's coach Taketo Aoki tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains third place with 26-25 record having seventeen points less than leader Tochigi Brex. Yokohama BC lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 36 games lost. They share it with Akita NH. Hitachi Sunrockers will meet Niigata Albirex (#4) on the road in the next round. Yokohama BC will play against the league's second-placed Sanen Neophoenix in Hamamatsu and hope to secure a win.
