Regular Season Round 28: Manresa - Valencia 73-94

Date: April 9, 2017
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Valencia Basket (19-6) smashed on the road bottom-ranked La ICL Manresa (4-22) 94-73 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Valencia Basket. La ICL Manresa was better in fourth quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded La ICL Manresa 39-20 including 28 on the defensive glass. Valencia Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international guard Rafael Martinez (190-82) fired 18 points for the winners. Montenegrin Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Brazilian-American point guard Scott Machado (186-90, college: Iona) produced 12 points and 5 assists and Czech Patrik Auda (206-89, college: Seton Hall, agency: Octagon Europe) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Valencia Basket have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. La ICL Manresa lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 22 lost games. Valencia Basket will face RETAbet BB (#9) in Bilbao in the next round and are hoping to win another game. La ICL Manresa will play on the road against Movil Estudiantes (#11) in Madrid and hope to win that game.
