Regular Season Round 44: Weber Bahia - Echague 88-63

Date: April 10, 2017
Everything went according to plan when third ranked Weber Bahia (25-18) outplayed 10th ranked Echague (8-38) in Bahia Blanca 88-63. The game was mostly controlled by Weber Bahia. Echague was better in fourth quarter 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Weber Bahia dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Echague's 38. Weber Bahia forced 19 Echague turnovers. The best player for the winners was American center Anthony-Laveal Johnson (203-88, college: Fairfield) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. International guard Lucio Redivo (183-94) chipped in 16 points. Four Weber Bahia players scored in double figures. American center Derrick Caracter (206-88, college: UTEP) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and Panamanian forward Josimar Ayarza (205-87, college: S.Mississippi) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Weber Bahia maintains third position with 25-18 record having eleven points less than leader San Lorenzo. Echague lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with 38 games lost. Weber Bahia's next round opponent will be league's leader San Martin Corrientes at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Echague will play against the league's leader San Lorenzo (#1) in Almagra and hope to win that game.
