Second Stage Round 6: Azad - Chemidor 80-73

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tehran: Azad (#2) and Chemidor (#3). Azad (3-2) won against visiting Chemidor (2-3) 80-73. It was a good game for American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 6 assists. Irish-Australian center Andrew James Ogilvy (211-88, college: Vanderbilt) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Azad's coach Farzad Kouhian used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Daequan Cook (195-87, college: Ohio St.) replied with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and K Riaie added 10 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Chemidor. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Azad maintains second position in Group 2 with 3-2 record behind leader Petrochimi. Chemidor at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. Azad are looking forward to face league's leader Petrochimi in Bandar Imam in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Chemidor will play on the road against Shahrdari Gorgan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
