The game had a very big importance for second-ranked DELTA as it allowed them to take a leadership position. DELTA smashed 5th ranked Tskaltubo at home 75-49. The game without a history. DELTA led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Tskaltubo to just 5 points in fourth quarter. American Deondre Ray (196, college: Cameron) stepped up and scored 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and point guard Ioseb Lezhava (185-91) chipped in 20 points and 6 assists. Four DELTA players scored in double figures. DELTA's coach Legso Lapanashvili felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Uzbekistani center Dmitry Sviridov (212-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and guard Giorgi Kiladze (185-90) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Tskaltubo lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with eight games lost. Tskaltubo will play next round against SEU Tbilisi trying to get back on the winning streak. DELTA will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked BC Titebi on the road.
