Regular Season Round 5: Joinville - Brusque 68-53

Bottom-ranked Brusque (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 68-53 loss to third ranked Joinville (5-3) in Joinville. Naturalized Spanish center Jose-Victor Jeronimo (208-91) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Lucas Vezaro (188-96) contributed with 21 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winners. Forward Alan Tiago (202-91) answered with 11 points and 6 rebounds and center Rodrigo Silva (207-87) added 5 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Brusque. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Joinville maintains third place with 5-3 record having just two points less than leader Botafogo F.R. Brusque at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. Joinville will play against league's leader Botafogo F.R. in Rio de Janeiro in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Brusque will play against Blumenau (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
