Very important is a road loss of third ranked Energy Invest (13-13) against eighth ranked Mgzavrebi (9-17) on Wednesday night. Visiting Energy Invest was crushed by Mgzavrebi in Tbilisi 91-59. The game without a history. Mgzavrebi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Energy Invest to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Mgzavrebi dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Energy Invest's 34. Mgzavrebi forced 21 Energy Invest turnovers. The former international point guard Otar Pkhakadze (188-93, college: Simpson, CA) notched 25 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and American point guard Corey Allen (185-92, college: S.Florida) supported him with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Even 11 points and 9 rebounds by center Sergo Atuashvili (223-85) did not help to save the game for Energy Invest. Point guard Revaz Chachanidze (183-90) added 16 points for the guests. Five Mgzavrebi and four Energy Invest players scored in double figures. Energy Invest's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Mgzavrebi have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Batumi. Energy Invest lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third position with 13 games lost. Mgzavrebi's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Kutaisi on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Energy Invest will play against the league's leader Dinamo Tbilisi and will have a slim chance for a victory.
