Very expected game when 11th ranked Carugate (7-19) lost to sixth ranked Costa Masnaga (17-9) in Corugate 62-73 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Costa Masnaga. Carugate was better in second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Costa Masnaga dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Carugate's 38. Power forward Giulia Rulli (185-91, agency: SPORTlab Agency) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Guard Francesca Misto (175-95) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Costa Masnaga players scored in double figures. The former international forward Emily Correal (190-90, college: William & Mary, agency: Interperformances) replied with 18 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Cecilia Albano (180-96) added 9 points in the effort for Carugate. Carugate's coach Paolo Re let to play twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Costa Masnaga maintains sixth position in A2 with 17-9 record. Loser Carugate keeps the eleventh place with 19 games lost.
