Second Stage Round 7: Naft Abadan - Arak 113-71

The game between Top Four teams took place in Abadan. First ranked host Naft Abadan (5-1) smashed their biggest opponent Arak (2-3) 113-71. The game without a history. Naft Abadan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Naft Abadan forced 28 Arak turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 53.1 percentage. Naft Abadan players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Arak's players. It was an exceptional evening for the former international swingman Saeed Davarpanah (190-87, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 6 assists. International Mohammad Hassanzadeh (203-90, agency: Three Eye Sports) accounted for 14 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Five Naft Abadan players scored in double figures. The former international Hamed Sohrabnejad (205-83) came up with 9 points and 12 rebounds and the former international forward Mohammad Zarei (190-88) added 14 points respectively for Arak in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Naft Abadan maintains first place in Group 1 with 5-1 record, which they share with Petrochimi. Arak lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with Kashan. Naft Abadan will play against league's second-placed Tabriz at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Arak will have a break next round.
